Zara, the leader of fast fashion


Hello my Dear Readers,

I’m Gaspard, your lovely Zara black blaser which escorts you at each moment of your life.

I know, my friend Charlotte already told you about the Fast Fashion market but today, we are talking about the market of my mother brand : Zara !

Just some facts to situate the brand in France
… First french shop 1989, rue du Havre Paris
… 129 shops in France (Paris area has the most important concentration)

You know why I can say that I’m your lovely and I escort you everyday ?
Because Zara is the unquestionned leader of the market in France, just few years after being the creator of this new trend.

How can I explain that ?
… Zara can create a collection in 4 weeks even 2 weeks if the market needs it
… The brand can react almost instantaneously to customer’s tastes evolution thanks to a daily feedback from shops around the world
… Centralised process in mediterraneen basin (Spain, Portugal, Marocco)  from conception to sale permits reactivity and flexibility  è delivery in Europe in 24hours and  between 36 and 48 hours for Asia and America
… 49 % of the global production is done in this area, 14 % in the reste of Europe (Italie, Romania, Turkey), 35 % in Asia (India for important sets) and 2% in America Latina (local collection)

… The brand has a very strong IT system that backs its distribution
… 200 fashion designers create 1000 designs per month 
… Every new collection will not remain more than one month, which makes the collection even more exclusive

… Zara has fast turnover, it produces small number of quantities for every product è quick understanding if the design is successful and to reduce risk of producing large quantities of items that customers don’t like

This strategy is only « to stuck to the customers demand » and there is no a special target, Zara wants to attract customers from childhood to older people.

You just have a look to this picture that sum up perfectly how Zara handles to maintain its place on the market

Zara is very discreet brand so I am not be able to give you some financial datas !!
